  1. FINALLY!! 😀

  2. Bought and downloading =)

    Can’t wait to play

  3. When’s it coming to piratebay?

  4. Is there any way that you would ever release the 128 color palette you used for Wizorb? I would love to get my hands on that and draw some stuff with it!

  5. I can’t get windowed mode to work, and when I try to use the scroll wheel in the rankings, the game crashes. I have the required runtimes, and I’m running Vista SP2.

  6. @Jordan Starkweather (@jackal27): I’d like to keep this color palette exclusive to our games since it’s part of what defines the graphical style. However, you could easily create a similar color palette. I basically took the NES color palette and doubled the number of shades of each color in it. Or, you could choose 15 hues and then create 8 shades for each of these hues. The 8 remaining colors are black, white and 6 shades of pure gray. Also, to have that NES feel, all colors should be fully saturated (avoid “colored grays”). There’s a nice example of a NES palette on Pixelation: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=6890.0

@Emily: We’re going to do some tests and email you back about these issues. Regarding technical support in general you can also write to us at: info@tributegames.com

  7. You’re gonna get me to create a Desura account for this game! (not complaining) 😛

Regardless…If Wizorb ever shows up on Steam I will buy it again…just sayin’. 🙂

  8. I agree with the above comment, I bought this on Desura and LOVE it, I would buy it again on Steam just to support the developer…can’t wait to see what they have in store for the future.

  9. I bought this at GamersGate and I love it but the game keeps crashing when I go look at the rankings. 😦

  10. @Ville: Did you buy it the first day it came out? If so, this bug should be fixed if you re-download the game. There was an issue with the font. Special characters were making the Rankings crash, but it should be fixed now. If this doesn’t solve the crash, write to us at info@tributegames.com and we’ll figure it out. Sorry about that!

Merci 😀

  12. Is the XP ‘no sound’ bug planned to be fixed, or will users have to disable hardware acceleration every time they want to play the game via control panel (and re-enable it again afterward)?

I’ve never had this issue before, and I play lots of modern indie games 😦

  13. @James Monkman (RGCD): Unfortunately, this issue is caused by a bug with DirectSound under Windows XP, so we really can’t fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience 😦

@Benjamin: Merci beaucoup pour les encouragements!

  14. I sooooooooo wish this was out on Steam. D:

  15. Purchased it from your online store! Can’t wait to play. I was asked for my address and contact number – does this mean that a physical copy is being posted?

  16. @ghost: No, it’s just a formality. Sorry to disappoint you 😛

  17. @Jonathan Lavigne: Ah, what a shame. It would be more than awesome to have a box!

The game is great, by the way. I’ve let all my FB friends know that it’s available for PC, so I do hope they buy it and support you guys.

  18. for some reason .net4 is required to install, but my computer won’t download it. how else can i play?? i downloaded it directly from you guys. will it work if i install via desura, and if so can i get a refund??

  19. @uziari: The game needs the .NET framework to run (no matter where it’s downloaded from). And yes, we can refund it if you wish.

  20. @Jonathan Lavigne: i don’t necessarily need a refund, but if possible can i transfer my purchase for the Mac version instead once it’s released??

i cannot get Wizorb to install on my bootcamp partition, but if i can play it natively that’s even better!! any ETA on the mac/linux version??

  21. @uziari: Sure, we can do that. ^_^ I’ll email you once the Mac version is online. It probably won’t be until next week though.

  22. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Wizorb

This group is to be understood as a petition to prove that there are enough people on Steam who’d purchase the game if it would be available on Steam.
Perhaps this could be done before the holidays so that everyone has a nice present for them.

    We need your help.

  23. @sera That’s a great initiative. Tribute Games already seems to want it on Steam (what developer wouldn’t?). So we only have to help showing to Valve that it’s viable to have the game on Steam.

Not that I have any doubt the game can do that out of its sheer quality alone. But it doesn’t hurt to help. We end up helping the devs and we help ourselves, as consumers, in the process…win win situation.
(Though you guys might have to end up making a hat to promote the game on TF2! xD) Which all in all might actually be a good idea to increase the sales. But I don’t really know how that hat thing works…if it comes from valve, or the own devs, or even the ‘workshop’ community.

Well I’ll try to send a email to Luke Plunkett, he was the one who published most of the stuff about Wizorb on Kotaku, and if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t even know about the game…he seems to really like the game so he might be interested in helping spread the word. Who knows…

  24. @Jonathan Lavigne: any updates on the mac version being released? i read that it was supposed to be today but haven’t seen anything on the website or blog about it since last week. thanks!!

  25. Currently working on the FastSpring store. The Linux version is already out on Gameolith and Desura, and the Mac version is out on GamersGate. I’ll make a proper announcement later today when everything is set up correctly. Oh and I haven’t forgot you, I’ll email you once everything is done ^_^

  26. Wow, this is annoying 😦 I’ve tried the game on 4 different PCs now and none have sound. I cannot believe that this is a bug solely caused by DirectX as this is the only game I’ve ever played that has this problem.

  27. @James Monkman (RGCD): Are all 4 different PCs you tested running under Windows XP? If so, none will have sound. The only solution for now is to disable hardware acceleration when playing the game on Windows XP. If they’re running on Vista or 7, can you write to us at info@tributegames.com and give us more info about your configuration (type of PC (desktop, laptop or netbook), soundcard, etc.)?

  28. @Jonathan Lavigne
I bought the game directly through you guys and now I can’t re-download [I click the link in my e-mail and it takes me to: File Download Wizorb_1.01.msi (Not Available)]. Any way to solve this?
    Thanks!

  29. @Daniel: I’ve sent you a new notification email. Let me know if the link works.

  30. Perfect! Got the game back.
    Thanks.

  31. guys help !! I just bought on steam but I get a black screen and I can only do a manual restart :/ I have Win 7, can u help me ??

  32. I’m reinstalling it right now..

  33. We’ll upload an update today, so your issue might be fixed tomorrow. If not, let us know by sending us an email at info@tributegames.com containing as much details as possible (PC config, version of Windows, etc.)
